Join the Chamber and the HR Steering Committee for lunch and a topic that affects nearly everyone: how do you deal with a difficult employee? Richwood U. Education Manager Matt Nichols will provide information on:

  • Understanding difficult behaviors
  • Identifying root causes and triggers
  • Communication strategies
  • Manager mindsets and setting boundaries
This workshop is perfect for HR professionals, team leaders, business owners, or anyone who deals with another human being who is difficult!

About our speaker: Matt Nichols is the Education Manager at Richwood Bank, where he is responsible for educating and developing new and current employees for all aspects of their business. Matt’s mission is to set up his employees for success, help them realize their potential, and ultimately achieve their career goals. He does this by streamlining the learning experience, improving learning transfer, and creating content to bring employees to the next level. Matt commands the room while presenting and is not only relatable, but also easily approachable for questions and guidance. His passion for educating extends beyond the Richwood Bank learning environment; Matt can be credited with working with local businesses and universities to develop and facilitate training and development sessions for their employees and leaders. In addition, Matt currently serves as the VP of Professional Development for the Central Ohio Association for Talent Development. With his knowledge and experience, Matt has a unique ability to provide training and development for a wide range of industries.

Matt holds a B.S. in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University and is currently pursuing his MBA. He has also supplemented his education with additional professional coursework and multiple certifications.

He currently resides in Delaware, OH with his wife of eight years. Together, they have five children: four adults who live on their own and a high schooler still at home. Rounding out the family are seven full-time cats and many foster kittens from time to time.

When not in the office, you will most likely find Matt on a local soccer field, as a referee. His passion for soccer is equal to that of teaching and training; he coached for over a decade and still appreciates being an integral part of youth soccer in central Ohio. In addition to officiating, Matt instructs referee courses and works with coaches for his local youth athletic association, as well as providing on and off-field mentoring for new officials as they build confidence and gain experience.
